2 While they were worshiping the Lord and going without eating,
s 13.2 going without eating: The Jews often went without eating as a way of showing how much they loved God. This is also called “fasting.”
the Holy Spirit told them, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul to do the work for which I have chosen them.”
2 While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, to do the work to which I have called them.” As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.” And as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 Everyone prayed and went without eating for a while longer. Next, they placed their hands on Barnabas and Saul to show that they had been appointed to do this work. Then everyone sent them on their way.
3 They fasted and prayed, placed their hands on them, and sent them off.
Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
3 Tunc jejunantes et orantes, imponentesque eis manus, dimiserunt illos.
Barnabas and Saul in Cyprus
4 After Barnabas and Saul had been sent by the Holy Spirit, they went to Seleucia. From there they sailed to the island of Cyprus.
In Cyprus
4 Having been sent by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul went to Seleucia and sailed from there to the island of Cyprus.
So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus. So they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
Barnabas et Saul, envoyés par le Saint Esprit, descendirent à Séleucie, et de là ils s`embarquèrent pour l`île de Chypre. Vnd wie sie ausgesand waren vom heiligen Geist / kamen sie gen Seleucia / vnd von dannen schifften sie gen Cypern. Сии, быв посланы Духом Святым, пришли в Селевкию, а оттуда отплыли в Кипр;

Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

25 As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’ 25 And as John was fulfilling his course, he said, What suppose ye that I am? I am not he. 27 The people of Jerusalem and their leaders didn't realize who Jesus was. And they didn't understand the words of the prophets that they read each Sabbath. So they condemned Jesus just as the prophets had said. 27 For the people who live in Jerusalem and their leaders did not know that he is the Savior, nor did they understand the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. Yet they made the prophets' words come true by condemning Jesus. 27 For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him. 27 For they that dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him. 27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

And we are here to bring the Good News to you: what God promised our ancestors he would do, he has now done for us, who are their descendants, by raising Jesus to life. As it is written in the second Psalm,
‘You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.’
32 We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers, 32 And we bring you good tidings of the promise made unto the fathers, 32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, 32 Et nous, nous vous annonçons cette bonne nouvelle que la promesse faite à nos pères, 32  VND wir auch verkündigen euch die Verheissunge / die zu vnsern Vetern geschehen ist / 32 И мы благовествуем вам, что обетование, данное отцам, Бог исполнил нам, детям их, воскресив Иисуса,

33 that he has kept this promise to us. It is just as the second Psalm says about Jesus,
13.33 Ps 2.7.

“You are my son because today
I have become your Father.”
33 that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm,
‘You are my Son.
Today I have become your father.’
33 that God hath fulfilled the same unto our children, in that he raised up Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
33 quoniam hanc Deus adimplevit filiis nostris resuscitans Jesum, sicut et in psalmo secundo scriptum est: Filius meus es tu, ego hodie genui te.

34 God raised Jesus from death and will never let his body decay. It is just as God said,
13.34 Is 55.3 (LXX).

“I will make to you
the same holy promise
that I made to David.”

34
13.34: Isa 55.3 (LXX).
And this is what God said about raising him from death, never to rot away in the grave:
‘I will give you the sacred and sure blessings
that I promised to David.’
34 “Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’
34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he hath spoken on this wise, I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David. 34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
mercies: Gr. holy, or just things: which word the Septuagint in many places, uses for that which is in the Hebrew, mercies

35 And in another psalm it says, “God will never let the body of his Holy One decay.”
13.35 Ps 16.10.

35
13.35: Psa 16.10.
As indeed he says in another passage,
‘You will not allow your faithful servant to rot in the grave.’
35 Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’ 35 Because he saith also in another psalm, Thou wilt not give Thy Holy One to see corruption. 35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 35 Zato i na drugome mjestu kaže: Neæeš dati da Svetac tvoj ugleda truleži.
35 Ideoque et alias dicit: Non dabis sanctum tuum videre corruptionem.
36 When David was alive, he obeyed God. Then after he died, he was buried in the family grave, and his body decayed.

36 For David served God's purposes in his own time, and then he died, was buried with his ancestors, and his body rotted in the grave.
36 For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw decay. 36 For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: 36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
after...: or, after he had in his own age served the will of God
36 David doista, pošto u svom naraštaju posluži volji Božjoj, preminu, pridruži se ocima svojim i vidje trulež,
37 But God raised Jesus from death, and his body did not decay. 37 But this did not happen to the one whom God raised from death. 37 But he whom God raised up saw no decay. 37 but he whom God raised up saw no corruption. 37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. 37 a Onaj koga Bog uskrisi ne vidje truleži.
37 Quem vero Deus suscitavit a mortuis, non vidit corruptionem.
38 My friends, the message is that Jesus can forgive your sins! The Law of Moses could not set you free from all your sins.
38-39 All of you, my fellow Israelites, are to know for sure that it is through Jesus that the message about forgiveness of sins is preached to you; you are to know that everyone who believes in him is set free from all the sins from which the Law of Moses could not set you free. 38 Be it known to you therefore, brothers
The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins,
38 Be it known unto you therefore, brethren, that through this man is proclaimed unto you remission of sins: 38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 38 Sachez donc, hommes frères, que c`est par lui que le pardon des péchés vous est annoncé, 38  SO sey es nu euch / kund lieben Brüder / Das euch verkündiget wird vergebung der Sünde durch Diesen / vnd von dem allem / durch welches jr nicht kundtet im gesetz Mosi gerecht werden.
38 Să știți dar, fraților, că în El vi se vestește iertarea păcatelor;
39 But everyone who has faith in Jesus is set free. 39 and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. 39 and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. 39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

42 As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the meeting, the people begged them to say more about these same things on the next Sabbath.
42 As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to come back the next Sabbath and tell them more about these things.
42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
42 And as they went out, they besought that these words might be spoken to them the next sabbath.
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

43 After the service, many Jews and a lot of Gentiles who worshiped God went with them. Paul and Barnabas begged them all to remain faithful to God, who had been so kind to them. 43 After the people had left the meeting, Paul and Barnabas were followed by many Jews and by many Gentiles who had been converted to Judaism. The apostles spoke to them and encouraged them to keep on living in the grace of God. 43 Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God. 43 Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God. 43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. 43 et, à l`issue de l`assemblée, beaucoup de Juifs et de prosélytes pieux suivirent Paul et Barnabas, qui s`entretinrent avec eux, et les exhortèrent à rester attachés à la grâce de Dieu.

45 When the Jewish people saw the crowds, they were very jealous. They insulted Paul and spoke against everything he said. 45 When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy; they disputed what Paul was saying and insulted him. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
45 Videntes autem turbas Judæi, repleti sunt zelo, et contradicebant his quæ a Paulo dicebantur, blasphemantes.
46 But Paul and Barnabas bravely said:
We had to tell God's message to you before we told it to anyone else. But you rejected the message! This proves that you don't deserve eternal life. Now we are going to the Gentiles.
46 But Paul and Barnabas spoke out even more boldly: “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we will leave you and go to the Gentiles.
46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
46 And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 The Lord has given us this command,
13.47 Is 42.6; 49.6.

“I have placed you here
as a light
for the Gentiles.
You are to take
the saving power of God
to people everywhere on earth.”
47
13.47: Isa 42.6; 49.6.
For this is the commandment that the Lord has given us:
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
so that all the world may be saved.’”
47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles,
That you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying,
I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles,
That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

48 This message made the Gentiles glad, and they praised what they had heard about the Lord.
x 13.44,48 the Lord: Some manuscripts have “God.”
Everyone who had been chosen for eternal life then put their faith in the Lord.
48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and praised the Lord's message; and those who had been chosen for eternal life became believers.
48 As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
48 And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

49 The message about the Lord spread all over that region.
49 The word of the Lord spread everywhere in that region.
49 The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region. 49 And the word of the Lord was spread abroad throughout all the region. 49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50 But the Jewish leaders went to some of the important men in the town and to some respected women who were religious. They turned them against Paul and Barnabas and started making trouble for them. They even chased them out of that part of the country. 50 But the Jews stirred up the leading men of the city and the Gentile women of high social standing who worshiped God. They started a persecution against Paul and Barnabas and threw them out of their region. 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders. 50 But the Jews urged on the devout women of honorable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders. 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

Paul and Barnabas in Iconium

1 Paul and Barnabas spoke in the Jewish meeting place in Iconium, just as they had done at Antioch, and many Jews and Gentiles

In Iconium
14
1 The same thing happened in Iconium: Paul and Barnabas went to the synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of Jews and Gentiles became believers.
14
It happened in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.

1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
Propovijedanje u Ikoniju
14
2 But the Jews who did not have faith in him made the other Gentiles angry and turned them against the Lord's followers. 2 But the Jews who would not believe stirred up the Gentiles and turned them against the believers. But the disbelieving
or, disobedient
Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.
But the Jews that were disobedient stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and made them evil affected against the brethren. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. Ali nepokorni Židovi razdražiše i podjariše pogane protiv braæe.
3 Paul and Barnabas stayed there for a while, having faith in the Lord and bravely speaking his message. The Lord gave them the power to work miracles and wonders, and he showed that their message about his great kindness was true.
3 The apostles stayed there for a long time, speaking boldly about the Lord, who proved that their message about his grace was true by giving them the power to perform miracles and wonders. Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. Long time therefore they tarried there speaking boldly in the Lord, who bare witness unto the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. 3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 The people of Iconium did not know what to think. Some of them believed the Jewish group, and others believed the apostles.
4 The people of the city were divided: some were for the Jews, others for the apostles. But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews, and part with the apostles. But the multitude of the city was divided; and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles. 4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 Finally, some Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, decided to make trouble for Paul and Barnabas and to stone them to death.
5 Then some Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, decided to mistreat the apostles and stone them.
When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them, And when there was made an onset both of the Gentiles and of the Jews with their rulers, to treat them shamefully and to stone them, 5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, Et comme les païens et les Juifs, de concert avec leurs chefs, se mettaient en mouvement pour les outrager et les lapider, DA sich aber ein Sturm erhub der Heiden vnd der Jüden vnd jrer Obersten / sie zu schmehen vnd zu steinigen / Когда же язычники и Иудеи со своими начальниками устремились на них, чтобы посрамить и побить их камнями,
6-7 But when the two apostles found out what was happening, they escaped to the region of Lycaonia. They preached the good news there in the towns of Lystra and Derbe and in the nearby countryside.
6 When the apostles learned about it, they fled to the cities of Lystra and Derbe in Lycaonia and to the surrounding territory. they became aware of it, and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region. they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about: 6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about: Paul et Barnabas, en ayant eu connaissance, se réfugièrent dans les villes de la Lycaonie, à Lystre et à Derbe, et dans la contrée d`alentour. wurden sie des innen / vnd entflohen in die Stedte des landes Lycaonia / gen Lystran vnd Derben / vnd in die gegend vmbher / они, узнав о сем, || удалились в Ликаонские города Листру и Дервию и в окрестности их, Kada to opaziše, prebjegoše oni u likaonske gradove Listru i Derbu i okolicu.
Paul and Barnabas in Lystra
8 In Lystra there was a man who had been born with crippled feet and had never been able to walk.
In Lystra and Derbe
8 In Lystra there was a crippled man who had been lame from birth and had never been able to walk.
At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
8 Hic audivit Paulum loquentem.
9 The man was listening to Paul speak, when Paul saw that he had faith in Jesus and could be healed. So he looked straight at the man 9 He sat there and listened to Paul's words. Paul saw that he believed and could be healed, so he looked straight at him He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole, The same heard Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole, 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Il écoutait parler Paul.
9 dixit magna voce: Surge super pedes tuos rectus. Et exilivit, et ambulabat.
10 and shouted, “Stand up!” The man jumped up and started walking around. 10 and said in a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” The man jumped up and started walking around. 10 said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” He leaped up and walked. 10 said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up and walked. 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. On skoèi i prohoda.
11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they yelled out in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have turned into humans and have come down to us!”
11 When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they started shouting in their own Lycaonian language, “The gods have become like men and have come down to us!” 11 When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” 11 And when the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. 11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
11 Et vocabant Barnabam Jovem, Paulum vero Mercurium: quoniam ipse erat dux verbi.
12 The people then gave Barnabas the name Zeus, and they gave Paul the name Hermes,
a 14.12 Hermes: The Greeks thought of Hermes as the messenger of the other gods, especially of Zeus, their chief god.
because he did the talking.
12 They gave Barnabas the name Zeus, and Paul the name Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. 12 They called Barnabas “Jupiter,” and Paul “Mercury,” because he was the chief speaker. 12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker. 12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. 12 I nazvaše Barnabu Zeusom, a Pavla Hermesom jer je Pavao vodio rijeè.
13 The temple of Zeus was near the entrance to the city. Its priest and the crowds wanted to offer a sacrifice to Barnabas and Paul. So the priest brought some bulls and flowers to the city gates.
13 The priest of the god Zeus, whose temple stood just outside the town, brought bulls and flowers to the gate, for he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifice to the apostles. 13 The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes. 13 And the priest of Jupiter whose temple was before the city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the multitudes. 13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. 13 A sveæenik Zeusa Predgradskoga dovede pred vrata bikove i vijence te u zajednici s narodom htjede žrtvovati.
14 When the two apostles found out about this, they tore their clothes in horror and ran to the crowd, shouting:
14 When Barnabas and Paul heard what they were about to do, they tore their clothes and ran into the middle of the crowd, shouting,
14 But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes, and sprang into the multitude, crying out, 14 But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out 14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, 14 Les apôtres Barnabas et Paul, ayant appris cela, déchirèrent leurs vêtements, et se précipitèrent au milieu de la foule, 14  DA das die Apostel Barnabas vnd Paulus höreten / zurissen sie jre Kleider vnd sprungen vnter das Volck / schrien 14 Kada su to doèuli apostoli Barnaba i Pavao, razdriješe haljine i uletješe u narod vièuæi:
15 Why are you doing this? We are humans just like you. Please give up all this foolishness. Turn to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.
14.15 Ex 20.11; Ps 146.6.

14.15: Exo 20.11; Psa 146.6.
“Why are you doing this? We ourselves are only human beings like you! We are here to announce the Good News, to turn you away from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven, earth, sea, and all that is in them.
15 “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them; 15 and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is: 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: 15 en s`écriant: O hommes, pourquoi agissez-vous de la sorte? 15  vnd sprachen / Jr Menner / was machet jr da?
15 qui in præteritis generationibus dimisit omnes gentes ingredi vias suas.
16 In times past, God let each nation go its own way. 16 In the past he allowed all people to go their own way. 16 who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways. 16 who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways. 16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 But he showed that he was there by the good things he did. God sends rain from heaven and makes your crops grow. He gives food to you and makes your hearts glad. 17 But he has always given evidence of his existence by the good things he does: he gives you rain from heaven and crops at the right times; he gives you food and fills your hearts with happiness.” 17 Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you

rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
17 And yet He left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness. 17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. 17 Ipak ne ostavi sebe neposvjedoèena: dobroèinstva iskazuje, s neba vam kišu daje i vremena plodonosna, napunja hranom i radošæu srca vaša."
18 Even after Paul and Barnabas had said all this, they could hardly keep the people from offering a sacrifice to them.
18 Even with these words the apostles could hardly keep the crowd from offering a sacrifice to them.
18 Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them.
18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the multitudes from doing sacrifice unto them. 18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 Some Jewish leaders from Antioch and Iconium came and turned the crowds against Paul. They hit him with stones and dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.
19 Some Jews came from Antioch in Pisidia and from Iconium; they won the crowds over to their side, stoned Paul and dragged him out of the town, thinking that he was dead.
19 But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. 19 But there came Jews thither from Antioch and Iconium: and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
Pavao kamenovan
20 But when the Lord's followers gathered around Paul, he stood up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas went to Derbe. 20 But when the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he and Barnabas went to Derbe.
20 But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.
20 But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and entered into the city: and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe. 20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. 20 Kad ga pak okružiše uèenici, usta on i uđe u grad. Sutradan ode s Barnabom u Derbu.
Paul and Barnabas Return to Antioch in Syria
21 Paul and Barnabas preached the good news in Derbe and won some people to the Lord. Then they went back to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch in Pisidia.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 Paul and Barnabas preached the Good News in Derbe and won many disciples. Then they went back to Lystra, to Iconium, and on to Antioch in Pisidia.
21 When they had preached the Gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch, 21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
had taught many: Gr. had made many disciples
Povratak u Antiohiju sirijsku
21 Pošto navijestiše evanđelje tomu gradu i mnoge uèiniše uèenicima, vratiše se u Listru, u Ikonij i u Antiohiju.
22 They encouraged the followers and begged them to remain faithful. They told them, “We have to suffer a lot before we can get into God's kingdom.” 22 They strengthened the believers and encouraged them to remain true to the faith. “We must pass through many troubles to enter the Kingdom of God,” they taught. 22 confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the Kingdom of God. 22 confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. 22 fortifiant l`esprit des disciples, les exhortant à persévérer dans la foi, et disant que c`est par beaucoup de tribulations qu`il nous faut entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.
23 Paul and Barnabas chose some leaders for each of the churches. Then they went without eating

and prayed that the Lord would take good care of these leaders.
23 In each church they appointed elders, and with prayers and fasting they commended them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. 23 When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed. 23 And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed. 23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
23 Transeuntesque Pisidiam, venerunt in Pamphyliam,
24 Paul and Barnabas went on through Pisidia to Pamphylia,
